Set Default Program in Event Preview Window
If you have this option checked at Help -> About -> Admin Config -> Options -> Admin tab
You will be able to set the default to the most recent program of a linked patient.

That most recent Program Assignment will auto-fill when you link that patient on the Event form in Scheduler as shown below:
