Discharging a Patient
Patient -> Demographics -> Intake tab
Another important field on the first tab is Active/Discharged.
Here you note if the patient is Active (currently an Intake or Patient receiving services) or Discharged (no longer receiving services or not moving past the Intake stage).
To discharge a patient, simply set this field to Discharged. Doing so will enable the Date of Discharge field on the first tab. You are required to enter the Discharge Date when you save your changes.
When you discharge a patient, the system will ask if you want to remove the discharged patient from scheduling groups, scheduling group wait lists, and future scheduled events. Choosing Yes, will remove that patient from those groups.
Note:
When patients are discharged, their records still remain in the system. However, their names will not display in the Find Dialogue by default. You will need to click the Show Discharged checkbox on the bottom right of the Find Dialogue to include discharged names in the results.
