Locking Records

Patient -> Patient Contacts -> Appointment tab

  1. Once you have entered the Appointment Record and completed the Progress Note, you should sign and lock the record.
  2. Each note template can be set up to optionally require a supervisor signature. This is set on the Options form, Formats Tab.
  3. Once all required signatures are entered, the record becomes locked. Neither the Appointment record nor the Progress Note may be modified by the user.
  4. However, as explained in the next section, there are ways around this restriction.
  5. If a supervisor signature area is displayed, but you don’t require one on a given record, you can select None Needed from the supervisor drop-down menu and then click the Sign button. This will allow you to lock the record without a supervisor signature.

Note:  You will only be able to do this if the permission on your Staff Info record indicates that you do not require a supervisor signature.
