Creating a Collateral record from a Patient Portal Message

 

Right-click a Secure Patient Portal Message (from the My Messages widget or the Messaging Center) to display an option labeled, "Save as Collateral."

 

This feature automatically converts the message into a Collateral record and links it to the appropriate patient.

 

  1. In the Patient Portal section of My Messages, highlight and right-click on the message that you would like to create a Collateral record for. 

  2. You will receive a confirmation message

  3. You can then go to Patient -> Patient Contacts -> [select the appropriate patient]. You will see that the message has been saved as a Collateral. You will also notice that the date will be the date that the message was received and not the date that you created the Collateral record.
