Initial Authorization
You can access the Insurance Authorization form from the Patient Contacts Actions menu, the Financial tab of the Demographics module, and the Appointments tab.
Certain insurance companies allow for a number of sessions or hours prior to requiring an authorization number. To automate the tracking of these preliminary sessions, we added the ability to associate an Initial Authorization to an Insurance company on the Insurer setup form within ClinicTracker. You can select either a single Authorization Package or a Master Authorization Package (which contains several Authorization Packages). When saving a patient record on the Demographic form, if you are entering an Admission Date for the first time and the patient's primary insurer has an Initial Authorization configured, you will be prompted if you would like the system to automatically create the authorization records for you.
