How to apply a credit balance
This page will explain how to apply a credit balance.
- Start BillingTracker
- In the top menu bar, click on “Payment Collection’ and then ‘Patient Payment Form’.
- Search for appropriate patient and double-click the name.
- In the upper right, click the ‘Apply Credit Balance’ button. The credit balances will display for this patient.
- Select a balance from the list, and click ‘Apply Balance’.
- You will see that the info loads into the ‘Payment Information’ section.
- Enter the amount you would like to apply next to the appropriate claim.
- Click ‘Apply Payment’.
- If you have not disbursed the entire amount, you will receive this message.
- To view the recently applied payment, click on ‘Patient Payment History’.
- Set a date range at the top and click ‘Refresh’. Select the master payment from the top list and verify that the grid below displays the payment history information.
