How to apply a credit balance

 

This page will explain how to apply a credit balance. 

 

  1. Start BillingTracker 
  2. In the top menu bar, click on “Payment Collection’ and then ‘Patient Payment Form’.

  3. Search for appropriate patient and double-click the name.
  4. In the upper right, click the ‘Apply Credit Balance’ button. The credit balances will display for this patient.

  5. Select a balance from the list, and click ‘Apply Balance’.

  6. You will see that the info loads into the ‘Payment Information’ section.

  7. Enter the amount you would like to apply next to the appropriate claim.
  8. Click ‘Apply Payment’.

  9. If you have not disbursed the entire amount, you will receive this message. 
  10. To view the recently applied payment, click on ‘Patient Payment History’.

  11. Set a date range at the top and click ‘Refresh’. Select the master payment from the top list and verify that the grid below displays the payment history information.
