Patient Access Permissions
About Setting Patient Access Permissions for Patient Groups and Place of Service
This module will allow you to grant and restrict patient records that a staff member can access based on certain characteristics. If you select "Enforce Security Based on Place of Service", in Admin Config > Options > Security tab on the Options form, in Staff > Staff Info > Additional Options, there will be a section labeled Patient Access Permissions and will have buttons for Patient Group and Place of Service. Here you will be able to set the Patient Access Permissions.

Users with Full system access to the Staff Info form can go to Staff > Staff Info > Additional Options > Patient Access Permissions > Patient Groups.
- Click the Patient Groups button.
- Click the checkboxes to grant permission to Patient Groups.
Users with Full system access to the Staff Info form can go to Staff > Staff Info > Additional Options > Patient Access Permissions > Place of Service.
- Click the Place of Service button.
- Click the checkboxes to grant permission to the patient's primary Place of Service.
Select this option if you would like to block access to any patient to whom this user is not currently assigned. This will only allow staff members access to assigned patients based on the Staff Assignments module.
Users with access to the Maintenance menu are now able to determine if a Patient Group or Place of Service should be accessible to new users by default. To grant the specific Patient Groups or Places of Service, an administrator can go to Utilities > Maintenance > Patient Group Input or Utilities > Maintenance > Building/Billing Location Input.
Select the checkbox that says "Grant Access by Default."
