Adding Carequality Connector

Next Steps: Once the ClinicTracker Team has enabled Carequality Connector, an Administrator from your clinic can request information from other organizations and can set the defaults for how your clinic responds to incoming requests.

Setting Up Carequality Connector

When you receive a request for information, it will be tagged with a  “Purpose of Request”. You can determine which purpose of request types your clinic automatically responds to by adjusting clinic-level defaults and patient-level permissions.

  • Setting Clinic-Level Defaults: go to Admin Config > Carequality Configuration. In the Configure Carequality Permissions for New Patients form, select the appropriate Purpose of Request boxes for your organization and Save. This setting will apply to all patients, unless changed per patient, using Patient-Level Permissions.
  • Setting Patient-Level Permissions: go to the Patient Consent Preferences form:  Demographics > Actions > Carequality Configuration. Select the Purpose of Request boxes that your patient has given permission to share with other organizations. This setting will override the Clinic-Level Defaults based on the patient preference.
  • Setting Permissions in the Patient Portal: go to Patient Portal > Settings > Carequality Configuration and select the Purpose of Request boxes that your patient has given permission to share with other organizations.

Purpose of Request types: Treatment, Payment, Health Care Operations, Public Health Activities, Patient Request, Coverage Determination, Other Authorization-Based Disclosures.

To require patients to opt into Carequality Connector: uncheck all Clinic-Level Purpose of Request types by going to Admin Config > Carequality Configuration. Once a patient has authorized information sharing, you may allow sharing on a per-patient basis
