Transition

  • Progress Note Requirements Upon Transition: This option will allow you to flag appointments that are either missing a progress note, or have a progress note that is missing required signatures when you attempt to transition them using the Transition Appointments form.
  • Patient-Group Specific Settings
  • Calculate Copay Requirement Based on Allowed Amount Upon Claim Creation: Generally a copay/coinsurance will be calculated on the actual amount for a service. Enable this option to calculate the copay based on the allowed amount. This will determine the Balance Assignments when a claim is transitioned.
  • Default Status for Transactions After Balance Assignment: This option will let you keep a transaction in its current state after a balance assignment. (e.g., pending transactions will remain pending after the balance assignment, queued will be queued, etc.).
  • Diagnosis Transition: This will allow you to determine what diagnosis information is contained in the billing claim after transitioning the appointment.
  • Block "Provisional" Diagnoses: Check this option to prevent "Provisional" diagnoses from being transitioned into claims.
  • Transition Prompts: On transition, prompt if there is another appointment for the same patient, date, and primary insurer.
  • Offsetting Balance Assignment: This setting affects how balance assignments are handled in the event of a patient copay that is larger than expected.
  • Default Override Accounting Export Values to ON: This setting will determine whether the value of the Override Accounting Export Values checkbox, located on Batch Create Claims, is checked or unchecked.
  • Set the Default item for the Payment Prompt within Batch Create Claims: This setting will determine what the selected value of the Payment Prompt dropdown is, located on Batch Create Claims.
  • Set the Default Item for the Payment Prompt within Transition Appointments: This setting will determine what the selected value of the Payment Prompt dropdown is, located on Transition Appointments.
  • Default Use Fee Schedule to ON: This setting will determine whether the value of the Use Fee Schedule checkbox, located on Batch Create Claims, is set to checked.
  • Apply Patient's Credit Balance When Auto-Charging a Default Credit Card: When Auto-Charging a Patient's Default Credit Card, if one exists, this setting will determine if we check and apply a patient's existing credit balance first before doing so.
  • Default for Bypass Appointments with Transition Warnings: Set the default for the checkbox of the same name on the Transition Appointments screen. With this option checked, anything that currently prompts a warning (missing valid diagnosis, same-day appointment, etc.) would simply be bypassed without displaying a warning message, and the system would just move on to the next entry.
  • Enable Option to Require an Appointment for All Selected Locations: This Option will allow a user to require each patient record to have a kept appointment in all selected locations when doing a Matching Patients search in Batch Create Claims.
  • Batch Claim Total Days Comparison Type Default: Determine how the system will calculate the total number of days (by default) when retrieving patients for Batch Create Claims
  • Bypass Copay Screen When No Copay Expected: Check this setting to bypass the Copay Collection Screen when the Patient Responsibility is $0.
  • Enable Qualifying Diagnosis: Turning this option on will allow a user to set a qualifying diagnosis, as well as enable an ability in Batch Create Claims to set the diagnosis on new claims to an active diagnosis assignment that contains a qualifying diagnosis.
  • Handling of Homeless or Unknown Address: When transitioning an appointment, if the patient's is the policy holder then determine how to set the insured party address information on the claim when the client is homeless or the address is unknown.
