Prevent scheduling appointments based on rules set for credentials or insurers.


About Appointment Save Restrictions

You may need to prevent certain patients from having appointments based on various reasons regarding insurance payor or provider credential level. The Appointment Save Restrictions feature will let you set rules for when a user should be prevented from creating an appointment for a particular patient. For example,  you may want to keep certain staff members from making an appointment if the patient has insurance that won't pay for a specific type of program. 

Setting Appointment Save Restrictions By Credential

  • To set Appointment Save Restrictions By Credential, an administrator can go to Admin Config > Appointment Save Restrictions > By Credential.
  • Select from the Select a Credential dropdown.
  • Check any of the following that apply: Disallowed Services, Disallowed Insurers, and Disallowed Diagnoses.
  • Save.

Note: For Disallowed Services, ClinicTracker will only check for the Primary Service selected on the appointment record.

Setting Appointment Save Restrictions By Insurer

  • To set Appointment Save Restrictions By Insurer, an administrator can go to Admin Config > Appointment Save Restrictions > By Insurer.
  • Select from the Select an Insurer dropdown.
  • Check any of the following that apply: Disallowed Programs, Disallowed Locations, Disallowed Diagnoses, and Disallowed Services. 
  • Save.

Note: You can clone the Appointment Save Restrictions rules by clicking the Clone to Other Insurer's button.
