About the Quick Info Pane

The Quick Info Pane (QIP) is a helpful reference tool for busy staff. You can see patient-specific notes, billing notes, as well as patient paperwork, authorizations, and demographic highlights.

Accessing Quick Info Pane

There are several ways to access the Quick Info Pane from any patient-specific page.

  • Press the F12 Key
  • Select the Quick Info Menu on the top of the page.
  • Select from the Navigation Menu

Quick Info Tab (Previously General Tab)

You can see the following information, all in one place:

  • Patient Photo, Case Type, DOB, Entered, Admit, Patient Group, Followup Clinician
  • Critical Patient Info Box (Note: override the information in this box by simply typing in the box - note history is not stored)
  • Buttons: Staff Assignments, Program Assignments, Patient Portal Account, Insurance Authorizations, Scheduling Groups
  • Icons: Completed Paperwork, Billing Account, Related Documents

Patient Notes Tab

Adding a Patient Note

  • Press the + button on the bottom to add additional patient notes to bring up the Patient Note form
  • Select a Note Type from the dropdown
  • Enter the Patient Note in the Description field
  • Check the Locked box and select Save.

Generating a Prompt

  • On the Patient Note form, check the Generate Prompt box.
  • You may select the color of your prompt and select which user type(s) may see the prompt

To add additional Note Types to use for Patient Notes go to: ClinicTracker > Utilities > Maintenance > Patient Note Type Input

Billing Notes Tab

The Billing Notes tab will reference notes from BillingTracker.

Compliance Tab

The Compliance Tab will show you overdue compliance tasks for the patient.


Diagnosis Assignment tab

The Diagnosis Assignment tab will show you the patient's current diagnoses.


Global Notes Tab (Previously General Notes Tab)

A Global Note will populate on all patients, clinic-wide. It is not specific to a particular patient.

Adding a Global Note

  • Press the + button to add additional Global Notes to bring up the Global Note form
  • Select a Note Type from the dropdown
  • Enter the Global Note in the Description field
  • Check the Locked box and select Save.

Generating a Prompt

If you would like to have your Patient Note pop up in a window each time your patient is accessed, you may set a Prompt.

On the Patient Note form, check the Generate Prompt box.

You may select the color of your Prompt and select which user type(s) may see the Prompt.


Embedding a Custom Tab (Optional)

You can embed a Custom Form to show as a tab on the QIP. Simply select Quick Info Pane in the Show in Form field from the Form Builder Setup screen. Your Custom Form will now appear in the Quick Info Pane as a separate tab.

Custom Form Alerts Tab (Optional)

If you would like to display the values from specific fields of a Custom Form your patients' Quick Info Panes, open the form in form builder, select the field, update the Property Display in Patient Note to Yes and Save your form. This will add a Custom Form Alerts Tab to the Quick Info Tab.
